Hard work and dedication are two things that I pride myself in. I will be the first to admit that I am not always the easiest person to motivate, but when I am motivated, there is no stopping me! This is not to say that I always win things, or that things always turn out how I want; but I refuse to stop trying until there is no time left to try.
Recently I have had a huge project going on. I rallied a bunch of my friends to help me make a submission for Andy Grammer’s video contest. I spent a week writing out plans, and I collaborated with my friends to make our final story line the best it could possibly be. After spending a few hours in a local coffee shop discussing filming locations and times, we made plans to shoot our video all over the weekend (10/5-10/8). We spent 4 hours after school filming on the stage, and then proceeded to my house for another 5 hours to film firework scenes. Then we spent en entire day-11am until 8pm- buying paint, taking photos, and playing around with the black light. My friend was able to have the entire video edited and uploaded by Tuesday 10/9. It was a long weekend with a lot of hard work, but I can honestly say that I have never had more fun ‘working’.
I am continuing to work hard at promoting our video, and hoping that Andy will recognize my group’s efforts! If we were to win this contest, I would certainly ask Andy to perform at my high school. It would be a great way for Andy to display his music, and for me to prove to myself and those around me that promoting and supporting musicians is where my heart is. I will not rest until the contest closes. Waiting for Andy to make the final decision is going to be hard, but exciting. Whether or not my group wins, I am grateful that we even got the chance to participate!
So thank you for your support. Without all of you guys helping me promote our video, we would be nowhere. I truly mean it when I say that your love and support means more than the world to me. Music is something that I take very seriously; I would like to pursue music business. All of these wonderful experiences with concerts, musicians, and music thus far have been the building blocks of my future. Thank you being part of my journey, and helping me grow into the person I am today.
Much Love,
C
